Two brothers from Chilliwack who got tired of replacing garden beds every few years.
The Dekker brothers grew up in Chilliwack, BC — right in the heart of the Fraser Valley farming community. Their family has been part of the area's old-school farming culture for generations. They know how to grow food that's healthy, nutritious, and actually tastes like something.
Like most gardeners, they'd been through the cycle: buy a wood bed, watch it rot in three years, replace it. Buy a metal bed, watch it rust at the seams. They kept asking the same question: why is no one building these things to actually last?
So they built one themselves. They took industrial-grade galvanized steel — the same material used on commercial construction sites — and turned it into a raised garden bed. No internal support bars. No compromises on thickness. Just a bed that was genuinely bulletproof.
Word spread fast. For years, GrowBoxx grew entirely through word of mouth — neighbours telling neighbours, farmers recommending them to families. Hundreds of local families bought in before GrowBoxx ever went online. Now they're bringing that same product to the rest of Canada — and the Okanagan is next.
